Red Beetroot , 'Detroit 2' (3 g) A medium-early, high-yielding beetroot variety. The roots are rounded, dark red in colour. Recommended for summer and autumn harvesting and suitable for storage. Beetroot grows well in acid-free, weedy, fertile loam with normal moisture content. Beetroot seed is sown at several dates. For early use, as soon as the soil can be worked in, for storage in the second half of May. It is not recommended to fertilise beetroot with fresh manure. To obtain a higher yield of roots, beetroot must be thinned. |
